My kids are always asking me questions and a lot of them start out with, “Back in your day…”. I usually reply, “What do you mean? It’s still my day”. But back in my “younger” days, we had just a few opportunities to play sports. We had football, baseball, basketball, swimming, wrestling, volleyball, and maybe just a few others. Now there seems to be an endless array of sports and activities to choose from. With the many choices kids have, they also have the opportunity to take lessons, do drills, and hopefully gain some knowledge, experience, and desire to improve as an athlete.
We were recently invited to put on a neighborhood kid’s clinic for the Loring community in Cumming, GA. There were some very skilled players, some new players, and everything in between. There were girls and boys of all ages who participated. We worked on serving, returning, dinking, paddle positioning, advancing forward as a team, and court position. We set up some drills to work on specific skills and then played a few games. A fun time was had by all!
We would like to thank the kids and parents in this community for welcoming us into their neighborhood. We appreciate all the kids that came out and gave up their Saturday afternoons to learn some new pickleball skills and work on some they already knew. We truly were blessed and honored to have been part of this amazing event.
